It’s the greenest time of the year! This 17th of March, we want to showcase the very best in independent Irish craft beer. While we’ve managed to whittle the list down to 10 choices below, there are so many other fantastic beers this small island has to offer. So, be sure to get browsing to see what we’ll be drinking this St Patrick’s Day and hopefully will give you some inspiration for the big day. 3. Lough Gill Trinity
Now this is one rounded, full-bodied, and velvety Imperial Stout! This very special release from Lough Gill was aged for a full year in the best Bourbon casks that arrived straight from the US to Sligo. As you would expect, all this time ageing has imparted strong woody notes and a great kick of bourbon aromas all followed by soft notes of oats, chocolate, and dark roasted malts.

4. Kinnegar Brewers At Play 29 Session IPA
The Brewers are at Play once more with the first release of 2023! For No.29, they have released a nice and easy-going Session IPA! The perfect way to ring in the first few months of the year (or throughout the rest of the year if you ask us!)

5. Wicklow Wolf Eden
One for the hop heads out there! This IPA is dry hopped using El Dorado and Chinook to create a tidal wave of tropical and stone fruit flavours with a hint of piney bitterness. The oats used in the malt give it a creamy and balanced body. A low ABV and very sessionable IPA to enjoy this St Patrick’s Day indeed.

6. Post Card Brewing The Custom House Extra Pale Ale
A fantastic beer to crack open the next time there's a bitta sun in the sky! This once limited release has now been promoted to core range because of its immense popularity and how easy drinking this beer is. Crisp, clean, and hoppy in all the right ways!

7. Dublin City Brewing Parnell Irish Stout
A velvety, easy-drinking stout that keeps you coming back for more! This fantastic take on the Irish classic has gentle sweetness, subtle roast character, and a touch of lingering hop flavour. Inspired by Charles Stewart Parnell, the Irish politician who fought for Irish independence, and a fitting beer for the St Patrick’s Day celebrations.

8. Wide Street Little Nelson
A warm-weather light and easy-drinking thirst-quenching session saison! Made with famous Saison strain and dry-hopped with a generous addition of Nelson Sauvin hops.

9. Mourne Mountain Mist Pilsner
A wonderfully balanced Irish pilsner we have on our hands here with Mourne Mountain Mist Pilsner! Brewed with Extra Pale malt and a touch of Light Munich malt, and generously hopped with whole leaf German Magnum and classic Czech Saaz varieties. All this combines into a brew that offers a light biscuity malt character, an assertive bitterness, and a floral, herbal hop aroma.

10. Western Herd Coast Road IPA
The first in Western Herd's Road Series, and what an introduction beer! Dry-hopped almost exclusively with large amounts of Mosaic to give a tropical up front hop burst. An IPA to add to your wishlist if you haven't tried it yet!
