We are more than thrilled to bring to you our first Brewery of the Month instalment, the first of many to come! For this segment, we had a set agenda in mind. We knew that we wanted the first brewery to be iconic — like the launch of our site — Irish and of course, host a killer portfolio of beers. Needless to say, we didn't have to look too far, with an array of top-notch breweries dotted around the length and breadth of the country.
O Brother Brewing struck us as the perfect candidates for a number of reasons. To begin with, they have a stellar collection of brews to choose from and are constantly on the hunt for new flavours and styles to explore, regularly adding to their specials. Secondly, the group had a story worth telling. And finally, they were obliged to let us interview them! Originally the plan was to make the journey to Wicklow and film everything on-site, to better grasp the real essence of the beers, brewery and all things O Brother. However, like with many other activities, lockdown got in the way. Therefore, we decided to draw up a list of questions for the team and film remotely!
O Brother Brewing hails from Kilcoole in Co. Wicklow and is a family-owned brewery. As alluded to in the name, O Brother was founded by three brothers, the O'Neills. Through their love and passion for great beer, they began brewing award-winning beers in 2014 and have only gone from strength to strength since then. They produce some of Ireland's most exciting beers with great quality ingredients and plenty of bold, hoppy flavours that help them stand out from the crowd.
